21st National Championship of Pinchos and Tapas, City of Valladolid
The National Championship of Pinchos and Tapas, held annually every November in Valladolid, is one of Spain’s most important gastronomic events. This prestigious competition brings together chefs from across the country to compete for the title of Best National Pincho or Tapa, showcasing innovative and high-quality culinary creations. It is the only championship that features entries from all of Spain’s autonomous communities.
9th World Tapas Competition, City of Valladolid
Valladolid is not only the national capital of bite-sized gastronomy, but also its global hub. International chefs compete with their finest creations, turning Valladolid into the world epicentre of the tapa. This event will feature chefs from all five continents.
Tapas Festival
In parallel with both competitions, the International Tapas Festival will take place from November 11th to 16th, allowing locals and visitors to enjoy the creations of more than 60 finalists at bars throughout the city.

Pinchos and tapas are a hallmark of Spanish gastronomic identity, showcasing the country’s culinary versatility in small, tasting-sized portions. More than just a culinary format, they are a deeply rooted social tradition present throughout Spain.
The city of Valladolid stands out for its strong tradition in offering pinchos and tapas, which has given rise to numerous local and regional competitions. This long-standing culture has led to the creation of the only officially recognized National Pinchos and Tapas Competition in Spain, now backed by 21 consecutive years of uninterrupted celebration.
