National Competition Jury
The jury will consist of two prestigious experts in Spanish cuisine, both of whom are accredited culinary professionals. A renowned head chef will serve as chair.
JANAINA TORRES
Considered one of the most internationally acclaimed chefs, Janaina Torres was named The World’s Best Female Chef in 2024 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, following her recognition as Latin America’s Best Female Chef in 2023.
A self-taught chef, entrepreneur and activist, she has built a career defined by her commitment to traditional Brazilian cuisine, sustainability, making gastronomy more accessible, and social responsibility, establishing herself as one of the most influential voices in international gastronomy.
She maintains close ties with Spain through her family roots and her well-known admiration for Spanish cuisine.

MARIO SANDOVAL
Trained at the Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Madrid and awarded the National Gastronomy Award for Best Head Chef in 2013, Mario Sandoval leads Coque restaurant.
The restaurant holds two Michelin Stars, one Michelin Green Star for sustainability, three Repsol Suns and three M awards from the Metrópoli Guide.
His culinary career combines a deep respect for ingredients with gastronomic research and innovation, establishing him as one of the leading figures in contemporary Spanish cuisine.
